ANNE STOCKTON (Playwright and Actor) has performed THE SPEED QUEEN at the Midtown International Theatre Festival (winner - Outstanding Performance in a Solo Show), New Jersey Repertory Theater in Long Branch, New Jersey and the Culture Project's Women Center Stage Festival. Other New York theater credits include AMERICAN CAESAR at Theater Three (directed by Mary Kate Burke), WEEKEND WITH BOB at the Paradise Theater (written by Tom Noonan), and VEGETARIAN CARVES THE BIRD at the J.E.T. Theater. Television credits include LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN and GUIDING LIGHT. As an actor/trainer for the New York City Police Department's Hostage Negotiation Team and Emergency Service Unit, she plays mentally ill individuals in training scenarios based on real life events. She is also a practicing psychiatrist.

She did several readings for female inmates at Rikers Island during the development of the script. Recently she has performed the play for female and male inmates at Bedford Hills, Beacon and Sing Sing Correctional Facilities. Response has been extremely positive - one deputy superintendent noted that "the play was both entertaining and educational, helping the women think about the pitfalls in life and motivating them to follow a better path in the future."
